FuelFi Weekly Raffle - Official Rules

Last updated: draft, not yet published for a real prize.

This is a working draft, not a finished legal document. It accurately describes how the raffle actually works in the app today, but the bracketed [placeholders] need real information filled in, and this should be reviewed by a lawyer before a prize is offered to anyone outside people you know personally - contest law differs between Canada and the US, and FuelFi's raffle draws entrants from both sides of the border.

1. Sponsor

This raffle is operated by Price Peer Corp., doing business as FuelFi ([CONTACT EMAIL]), serving the Windsor, Ontario / Detroit, Michigan corridor.

2. Eligibility

Open to legal residents of the Windsor-Detroit metro area who are at least the age of majority in their province or state of residence, and who hold a verified FuelFi account. Employees of the sponsor and their immediate family members are not eligible. [Confirm any additional restrictions - e.g. one account per person, geographic radius.]

3. No Purchase Necessary

No purchase, payment, or fee of any kind is required to enter or to win. Entries are earned only through free activity: submitting a verified price report, or redeeming points you already earned through free activity into a raffle entry. FuelFi does not sell points, entries, or any path to entry.

4. How to Enter

From your FuelFi profile, opt in to the weekly raffle with a display name (shown publicly only if you win). Once opted in, you're automatically eligible based on your verified price reports during the current draw period; you may optionally redeem earned points for additional entries, which increase your odds but are never required.

5. Entry Period and Draw Schedule

Each draw covers the 7 days immediately before it runs. The draw schedule is set by the sponsor and shown in the app; it may change at any time without notice.

6. Odds and Selection

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entrants and each entrant's own number of entries, and are not fixed or predetermined. One entrant is selected per draw by a random drawing weighted by each entrant's entries. Full weighting mechanics are published in-app and may change at any time without notice.

7. Skill-Testing Question

Before a selected entrant is confirmed as the winner, they must correctly answer, unaided by any calculating device, a mathematical skill-testing question (in the form (A × B) + C) within one attempt. A correct answer confirms the win; an incorrect answer forfeits the prize for that draw, and no replacement winner is automatically selected. This requirement exists to qualify the raffle as a contest of skill under Canadian law.

8. Prizes

The prize for each draw is described in-app at the time of the draw. Prizes are not exchangeable for cash and may not be transferred, except at the sponsor's discretion. Prizes are fulfilled manually by the sponsor after a winner is confirmed. [If prizes will ever exceed a small value, add approximate retail value language here.]

9. Publicity

A confirmed winner's chosen display name - never their phone number or any other contact information - may be published in-app as a past winner.

10. Privacy

Information collected to run this raffle (phone number, display name, report history) is used only to determine eligibility, run the draw, and contact a winner. [Link a full privacy policy here once one exists.]

11. Right to Modify or Cancel

The sponsor may modify, suspend, or cancel this raffle or these rules at any time, for any reason, without notice.

12. Governing Law

These rules are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles - Price Peer Corp.'s home jurisdiction. [Still to be confirmed with legal counsel: whether additional provisions are needed to satisfy Michigan/US requirements for entrants on that side of the corridor.] Void where prohibited by law.

13. Questions
